I had been going to another exotic vet for years. When I got the feeling they were being overwhelmed I looked everywhere for another vet and found Parrish creek. I have guinea pigs and have only been one time but after my visit they called to check on my little baby at least once a week while in recovery. They offered me the best options and have better resources available so you don't have to go somewhere else to have testing. The drive is farther but I feel is worth it. My little guys are do for a physical and I will definitely be making the drive to see them again.
I cannot say enough good things about this office! My bird had an emergency and they agreed to take her in asap, even though they were already extremely busy. The care she got was amazing, the staff and doctors were amazing as well, they were all so nice and took time to explain things and answer any questions I had. The pricing is affordable too, especially considering they see exotic pets! I'm definitely going to make them her primary vet from now on. Thank you everyone for giving Sho such great care :)
MY 12 YR OLD CHINCHILLA HAD NEVER NEEDED DENTISTRY BEFORE. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT HAVING IT DONE AT HER AGE. SHE HAD RECENTLY LOST WEIGHT & WASN'T EATING. JEN AT THE FRONT DESK WAS TERRIFIC & GOT US IN. WE DROVE FROM IDAHO TO CENTERVILLE. SEEING HOW MUCH BETTER MY LITTLE GIRL FELT AFTER MADE ME SO HAPPY. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE HER TEETH CHECKED ANNUALLY BY DR KIRK.
I was referred to Parrish Creek by another Vet for getting an implant for my ferret. For my first appointment I would have given Parrish Creek 3 stars. There was nothing that blew me away and nothing that really upset me. My biggest issue at this point was that the office fee was $80, which is the most I have ever paid a Vet to just walk in the door. Anyway, The doctor wanted to run blood work to make sure the implant was needed, which I understood and was okay with. I was told that it could take up to 1 week to get the results. So, that day I scheduled my follow up appointment for 2 weeks out to make sure I could get my ferret in as quick as possible for the implant. One week past and no call about the blood work. I waited till 2 days before my appointment to call them up and ask about the results. The receptionist was very kind and told me she saw the results came back, but couldn't tell me anything about them. I asked if there was any way a doctor could let me know if the tests show that I need the implant and I should still come in for the appointment. I get a call back a few hours later and am told "the doctors says to keep the appointment". Still don't know what the test results say; test results I spent $140 for, but feel better that I'm not going to waste a trip to the vet. So, I show up for my appointment to get the implant and the vet tech comes out to get the ferret and asks "we are doing the implant for him right?". I say "Yes; but, I still haven't been told what the blood test results are. I want to make sure he really needs this." I go into the building with the Tech and am waiting in an exam room, when she goes to go get the information. From outside the exam room I hear the Tech asking a doctor about the results and I hear "I don't know why he is asking about those results, I told him to come in today". I don't know who this doctor was, but he sounded really annoyed and I felt very uncomfortable being there. The tech came in with the results and showed me that the the implant was needed... This was all I wanted!!! Just a confirmation!!! Why was this so hard??? My ferret gets the implant and the tech asks for my payment and asks "have you been quoted on this procedure" I responded "Nope" and giver her my credit card. I thought it was funny being asked about the quote, when it seems so hard to get any information out of this establishment. When I'm ready to leave, the Tech as she is walking away just says to let them know if anything comes up. No, "Have a good day" No, "Thanks for coming in". Even when I walked by the front desk the receptionist didn't even look up and say anything. Overall, I felt uncomfortable being at Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital. I didn't feel like they cared about my ferret, they didn't care about me. Every employee seemed rude and annoyed with me or with just being at work. If my ferret needs another implant, I would rather drive 700 mile to Mesa, AZ where I have had great experiences with a vet and my ferret. Never going here again!!!
